Chapter 100: Seclusion, Roaming the Taixu Realm
“The Heavenly Dao has been collapsing recently, and its rules are incomplete. You should not break through for the time being.” The Old Monster warned you.
Hearing this, you hesitated for a moment. Thinking of the relationship between the Old Monster and the Old Village Chief, you gritted your teeth, made up your mind, and spoke of the matter regarding the Heavenly Dao.
“Senior, the Old Village Chief gave me some Authority of the Heavenly Dao, but this junior’s cultivation is lowly, and I truly do not know how to refine it.”
“You see…”
The Old Monster glanced at you and said, “It’s that thing in your head, isn’t it? I was wondering why it contained the aura of the Heavenly Dao. So that’s what it was.”
As expected! You knew that before an Old Monster who had lived for over ten thousand years, you had virtually no secrets to speak of.
Seeming to see what was on your mind, the Old Monster continued, “Rest assured, it is merely a trace of the Heavenly Dao’s authority. Even if the true Heavenly Dao were here, I would not care for it!”
“This old man only knows how to hunt the Heavenly Dao!”
You felt somewhat ashamed. Why was everyone talking about hunting the Heavenly Dao? Was the Heavenly Dao really that weak?
“Then…”
“Merge the power of the Heavenly Dao into your divine sense. That way, you can seize the Authority of the Heavenly Dao.” The Old Monster explained.
“While the Heavenly Dao is currently weak, seize the time to refine it. If you wait until the Heavenly Dao recovers, and then try to snatch its authority, I fear it will not be so easy.” The Old Monster urged, bringing you to a secluded cultivation chamber within the blacksmith shop.
Before entering seclusion, you thought for a moment, bowed, and said, “If this junior encounters danger, I hope Senior will lend a hand to save me.”
The Old Monster waved his hand dismissively. “Rest assured, as long as this old man is here, no one can harm you in the Void City!”
“Thank you, Senior.” Having obtained the Old Monster’s guarantee, you completely relaxed and formally began your seclusion.
“Oh, right. The stronger your soul, the greater the possibility of seizing the Authority of the Heavenly Dao.”
“If you have a soul-refining method, you can first raise the strength of your soul.” Something had occurred to the Old Monster, and he reminded you.
Hearing this, you already had a plan in mind. After clearing your mind of distractions, you circulated the Taixu Spirit-Refining Art.
To avoid staying too long in the Taixu Realm, you used the traction technique of the Taixu Spirit-Refining Art and set a time limit of ten years.
Ten years later, your physical body would autonomously circulate the traction technique, pulling your divine sense back from the Taixu Realm into your body.
Your divine sense left your body, heading toward that mysterious Taixu Realm.
Your divine sense was already infinitely close to a Spirit Transformation Primordial Spirit. The final step you were missing was kicked open the moment you entered the Taixu Realm!
Your Primordial Spirit formed within the Taixu Realm. A white, transparent body, identical in appearance to you, condensed into form.
You curiously examined your own Primordial Spirit, then began wandering aimlessly through the Taixu Realm.
The Taixu Realm had no east, west, south, or north. All around was a vast, pitch-black expanse, with no end in sight and no other living beings to be seen.
Here, you could not feel the passage of time. It was as if all existence was meaningless.
Your Primordial Spirit began to grow bewildered. But with the guidance technique of the Taixu Spirit-Refining Art, you could still maintain a trace of sanity, enough to avoid completely losing yourself in the Taixu Realm.
As your Primordial Spirit wandered the Taixu Realm, it involuntarily began absorbing the energy of the Taixu Realm. This was an indescribable energy that filled the entire Taixu Realm.
Without your awareness, your Primordial Spirit gradually began to grow stronger.
Your gaze looked ahead, and you discovered a Primordial Spirit. This was the first time you had seen another Primordial Spirit in the Taixu Realm.
Relying on a trace of instinct, you drifted forward a short distance, silently observing the other party.
You discovered that this Primordial Spirit was already half-condensed. Half of its body had already turned from illusory to solid, as if it were a physical body!
You saw it continuously open its mouth wide, but you did not know what it was saying.
In the Taixu Realm, sound could not travel. Judging by mouth shapes alone, it was difficult to understand.
Soon, it discovered you in the distance and opened its mouth to roar at you.
“WHO AM I, WHERE AM I, WHAT AM I DOING!!!”
The voice, through some unknown means, transmitted directly into your Primordial Spirit, and you instantly understood its meaning.
Before you could make any move, it stared straight at you and flew rapidly toward you!
An instinct concerning life and death drove you to flee into the distance. Your intuition told you that if you were caught, you would die!
You did not know how long had passed. You looked back and found that it had stopped pursuing, as if it had once again fallen into bewilderment.
You were astonished to discover that your Primordial Spirit had grown stronger. This increase in strength was something you could clearly feel.
You became infatuated with this feeling of growing stronger. Looking at its figure, you were eager to try.
“WHO AM I, WHERE AM I, WHAT AM I DOING!”
It roared at you again and began pursuing.
The instinct for survival stimulated all the power of your Primordial Spirit, rapidly pulling you away to a distance.
Looking at it as it once again fell into bewilderment, you rested for a while, then began your actions once more.
This repeated until the fifth time, and you were shocked!
“WHO EXACTLY ARE YOU!!!”
The meaning of the voice had changed, and it began pursuing you relentlessly, no longer falling into bewilderment in between.
With only a trace of sanity left, you now knew you had played with fire. You could only run for your life without regard for anything else.
The power of your Primordial Spirit within you erupted in full, yet you could only barely maintain a distance from it. Once you stopped, you would die!
The rate at which your Primordial Spirit’s power was being consumed had already far exceeded the rate at which it could absorb and grow stronger. At this rate, you truly would die!
“WHO EXACTLY ARE YOU!”
Behind you, its voice continued to transmit into your Primordial Spirit, forcing you to run with everything you had.
Your Primordial Spirit’s power was about to run out. Just as you fell into a hopeless situation, a traction force transmitted over, opening a passage back for you.
You exhausted the last trace of your Primordial Spirit’s power, entered the passage, and your Primordial Spirit returned to your body.
Behind your Primordial Spirit, a flash of brilliant light flickered in its eyes. Just as the passage was about to close, it followed you out of the Taixu Realm!
Your Primordial Spirit returned to your body. Before you could even properly adjust, a half-solid, half-illusory Primordial Spirit appeared before you, studying you with a half-smile.
Alarm bells rang wildly in your heart. A sense of fear filled your being. You wanted to cry out for help, but found that your Primordial Spirit was suppressed by an incomparably powerful force, severing its connection to your physical body.
Just as you thought you were about to be subjected to Body Seizure, the Old Monster burst through the door.
“So it’s you!!!”
