Proposal Rejected 99 Times, the Cold Campus Belle Forcefully Flirts with Me, Jiang Muye 1. Chapter 1: Proposal Rejected 99 Times

Chapter 1: Proposal Rejected 99 Times

In the evening, at South City University.

"Everyone, look! Jiang Muye is at the field proposing to the Campus Belle Xia again!" An excited shout immediately drew the attention of the other students.

"Again? This is his ninety-ninth proposal, isn't it? He still hasn't given up!"

"He's got so much perseverance. He proposes on time at eight every day, rain or shine. He must really like the Campus Belle Xia!"

A crowd hurried toward the field, afraid they'd miss the show.

The field had already been decorated, and it was incredibly romantic.

The rubber track was covered with pink rose petals and balloons, and candles had been lit around them to form a heart.

A tall figure stood waiting there, a bouquet of roses in his hands.

The young man had crisp black hair and clean, handsome features, and a fresh, untainted air rushed off of him. His white shirt hung loosely on him, his frame tall and slender, unrestrained.

Draped in the bright moonlight, he was radiant and dazzling.

He showed not the slightest unease at the endless chatter of the crowd around him, and kept his head held high, neither haughty nor humble.

This handsome young man was today's main character: Jiang Muye.

Countless girls were stealing glances at him, all of them falling for his good looks, secretly blushing.

"Why does it feel like Jiang Muye keeps getting more handsome? I really hope his proposal fails this time. If anything, that might give me a chance!"

"You're thinking too much. He's a Romeo. He only likes the Campus Belle Xia. How could he ever give his heart to someone else?"

Just as the girls were swooning and squealing, the boys beside them poured cold water on it all.

"How is that a Romeo? That's a simp. Sure, they've got a childhood betrothal, but the Campus Belle Xia has no interest in him at all. Otherwise, why would she never say yes after all those proposals?"

The boy even gloated, "I bet the Campus Belle Xia shoots Jiang Muye down again this time, and he'll have to start preparing his hundredth proposal."

The girls shook their heads, full of pity.

Jiang Muye had the looks and the grades. It was just a pity he was so single-minded. Of all people, he had to be interested in the Campus Belle Xia, and hopelessly devoted at that.

How many pretty girls surrounded him, yet he didn't even look at them. Even if his proposal failed this time, they'd still have no opportunity.

As everyone was chattering, someone in the back row called out excitedly, "The Campus Belle Xia is here—"

Everyone turned to look at the field's entrance in unison.

A breathtakingly beautiful girl appeared on the scene, flanked by her three best friends.

As one of the school's Four Great Campus Belles, Xia Xiran was naturally gorgeous. Standing among her friends, she was all the more striking at a glance.

Xia Xiran's long hair reached her waist, and her soft oval face was delicate and serene. Her spring-water clear eyes swept lightly over Jiang Muye, betraying little emotion.

Her face could make women feel inferior, and her figure could make men's mouths water.

A form-fitting light purple tracksuit outlined her slender, soft body. With every step, her full, well-proportioned little rabbits threatened to burst through the fabric, and her pair of smooth, shapely long legs could make anyone's nose bleed and their hormones spike.

When Jiang Muye saw Xia Xiran appear, his lips curved slightly.

So it had finally come—the ninety-ninth proposal.

Without a shred of hesitation, Jiang Muye stepped forward. Under the gaze of thousands, he dropped to one knee. With his left hand he offered the flowers, and with his right he pulled a red velvet ring box from his pocket.

He opened it quickly.

It revealed a sparkling DR Ring!

This whole routine was so practiced it made one's heart ache.

But with Jiang Muye performing it, the hearts of every girl present began to flutter!

Only Xia Xiran remained calm as still water.

Jiang Muye's ink-dark eyes were firm as he raised his head and said loudly to Xia Xiran, "This is my ninety-ninth proposal to you. I skipped the confession and went straight to the proposal, because I want to have a relationship with you that's aimed at marriage.

"A lot of things get tiresome the longer you look at them. You're the only one I like more and more the longer I look.

"I've never liked a girl this much before. You made me break my rule.

"I'm the kind of person who loses interest after three minutes. I've never stuck with anything, but I stuck with proposing to you ninety-nine times.

"You've taken a lot of my firsts.

"The first time I wrote a poem for you, the first time I learned to cook for you, the first time I waited downstairs at the girls' dorm to bring you breakfast, the first time I waited on time and on the dot for someone…"

As Jiang Muye spoke, a kind of indescribable soft light filled his eyes.

He drew everyone into that infatuation, moving them deeply. Quite a few girls were already completely enchanted.

There really weren't many boys this devoted these days.

If they were Xia Xiran, they'd have pounced on Jiang Muye and hugged him long ago.

But Xia Xiran's autumn-water eyes narrowed slightly. It was obvious she wasn't very interested.

"The galaxy is scorching hot, and you are my ideal in this world."

Jiang Muye stared at Xia Xiran with bright eyes and shouted loudly, "Xia Xiran, please marry me. I want the slow, steady stream of years to be you, the firewood, rice, oil, and salt to be you, growing old together to be you, all the rest of my life to be you."

"I hope the kite has its wind, the dolphin has its sea, and I can have you."

His loud, passionate confession rang out across the whole field.

People began to speculate.

"He should say yes this time, right? Jiang Muye almost made me cry."

"This is a DR Ring—a lifetime given to only one person. So romantic! The Campus Belle Xia will put it on, won't she?"

"You little girls just don't get the Campus Belle Xia. If she were willing, she'd have put it on long ago. How could she possibly have turned him down ninety-eight times! There's absolutely no chance!"

But Jiang Muye was completely unafraid of all that gossip. He gazed at Xia Xiran with fiery eyes, waiting for her answer.

Xia Xiran frowned and said calmly, "Are you done?"

"Yes."

Jiang Muye watched as Xia Xiran walked toward him, step by step.

His body temperature rose, and his heart raced.

Was she saying yes this time?

Seeing Xia Xiran get closer and closer, the onlookers grew excited.

"God, she's accepting the proposal this time, isn't she! Are we about to see the first newlywed couple in our college!"

"Whoever just said there was no chance, step forward. Let me beat you to death. Jiang Muye's handsome and devoted. Xia Xiran definitely said yes!"

Haha, the author started a new book again to buy a little dress. Please support me~ I'll work hard and diligently.
