Chapter 224: This DR Ring Belongs to Me
Boss Cutie
Earlier, she had even gone to buy an identical ring in an attempt to hold on to Jiang Muye's heart, but the proposal had failed.
If she wasn't mistaken, this DR Ring was the very one Jiang Muye had proposed to her with!
And so, after Leng Ruoli finished her conversation with the teacher and was about to leave, Xia Xiran suddenly overtook her and shouted excitedly, "Stop right there!"
But when Leng Ruoli saw Xia Xiran, she treated her like thin air and walked around her, continuing on her way.
This sent Xia Xiran into a fury. She ran up and grabbed Leng Ruoli by the wrist, questioning her, "You thief, on what basis did you steal my ring!"
Leng Ruoli looked at the unreasonable Xia Xiran in front of her, then coldly shook off her hand. "Don't sling mud at me. This is mine."
"Yours? Muye clearly bought it for me!" Xia Xiran howled, tears in her eyes.
A bitter refusal to accept what was happening burned in her, and on instinct she moved to snatch the ring.
Looking at Xia Xiran, now crazed, Leng Ruoli gritted her teeth and shoved her away.
Xia Xiran crashed into the wall and was stunned.
"Don't put on a show like you wanted the ring so badly," Leng Ruoli said, gazing at Xia Xiran coldly. "You had so many chances to accept it back then, and you gave up every one of them. Now you come to snatch mine. What does that prove? It's always the one in someone else's hand that smells sweet."
Xia Xiran shook her head repeatedly, tears falling on the spot. "No, that's not how it is!"
"If you loved Muye, why were you being so dramatic back then? Or is it that you're just a tsundere?" Leng Ruoli's red lips pressed tight. She raised her hand in front of Xia Xiran, the DR Ring aimed straight at Xia Xiran's burning gaze. "You think that just because you get this ring, Muye is yours? No, he won't be with you. No matter how much you cling to him, that won't change."
"No, stop talking! That's not how it is!" Xia Xiran burst into tears, covering her ears in a breakdown—but Leng Ruoli, beautiful and fierce, pinned her against the wall and pulled her hands away from her ears.
"If it weren't the truth, why don't you want to hear it now? Honest words grate on the ear, but that's reality." Leng Ruoli looked down on Xia Xiran with utter contempt.
Xia Xiran bit her crimson lips. She was overcome with grief, tears spilling from her eyes.
She sobbed, unable to hide her pain.
"You're planning to take the graduate entrance exam, aren't you." Leng Ruoli narrowed her eyes at Xia Xiran.
"So what if I am." Xia Xiran bit her red lip.
"You should know the influence Muye and I have now." Leng Ruoli smiled. "Adding a little embellishment to your record would be far too easy. If you don't get into graduate school smoothly, your professor parents would be absolutely heartbroken, wouldn't they."
"You're threatening me?!" Xia Xiran's eyes went wide.
"Yes, I'm threatening you. I really do disdain using whatever methods, but if others don't provoke me, I won't provoke them; if they do, I will repay it in kind!" Leng Ruoli gripped Xia Xiran's chin tightly, her aura in full force, her eyes written all over with danger.
Xia Xiran's eyes turned bright red. "Aren't you afraid Muye will find out what a vicious person you are."
"You don't understand me." Leng Ruoli smiled mockingly. "And you understand him even less."
Her boyfriend wouldn't quarrel with her over something like this.
Besides, faced with the same situation, Jiang Muye would absolutely be even more ruthless than her.
If you want to live well, you absolutely cannot be softhearted.
"Then I'll go tattle, expose your true face!" Xia Xiran pushed Leng Ruoli away and stormed off in a huff.
But from behind her came Leng Ruoli's lazy voice. "Fine, go ahead. You won't get anything out of it anyway. On the contrary, you'll almost certainly receive a withdrawal notice. If a professor's daughter's highest qualification is only high school—pfft, that'd be funny."
Xia Xiran's little face turned deathly pale.
She had struggled so hard to get into university. If she couldn't get her degree, wouldn't she just be a high schooler?
Having nothing but a high school diploma was enough to make one a laughingstock.
Xia Xiran bit her lower lip, furious. "Leng Ruoli, what exactly are you planning to do!"
"Stop pestering Muye. Don't even think about coming between us." Leng Ruoli raised her eyes and spoke coldly.
On that beautiful face there wasn't a trace of warmth—proud and arrogant, like an unpolished piece of jade: gorgeous, but with sharp edges.
Xia Xiran was cowed by Leng Ruoli's presence.
Her palms were already covered in fine sweat, and she clutched desperately at the hem of her skirt.
"I really do like him!" Xia Xiran cried out, tears streaming.
But Leng Ruoli looked at Xia Xiran as though she were a clown.
Xia Xiran crouched down, holding her head, weeping bitterly. "Can't you stop pushing me!"
"Pfft."
Yet Xia Xiran's crying won not the slightest sympathy from Leng Ruoli.
"If it were me, even if I had to make an enemy of the whole world, I'd still choose him. You're suffering now simply because you're hesitating. Between your studies and him, you still think your studies matter more." Leng Ruoli's voice was soft and gentle, her gaze rippling and cold.
Xia Xiran raised her delicate, pale face, shaking her head over and over. "No… that's not how it is…"
"Once you've learned how to like someone, then you can tell him you like him." Leng Ruoli looked at Xia Xiran coldly. "No matter how much you like him, I'll definitely like him n times more."
After saying all that, Leng Ruoli left under Xia Xiran's pained gaze.
Xia Xiran murmured "that's not it," and collapsed, clutching her head and curling up in the corner.
As she was drowning in misery, a pair of white sneakers stopped in front of her.
Suddenly, a clean handkerchief was held out to her.
"Wipe them," a voice as gentle as a fresh breeze brushed past her ear.
Xia Xiran immediately looked up, and she saw the noble, handsome youth before her.
He was smiling at her, refined and moving.
The tears in Xia Xiran's eyes pooled even more. She threw herself into the youth's arms, sobbing, "Wuu wuu, don't leave me, okay? Whatever you don't like about me, I'll change it all."
As Xia Xiran cried, sniffling and tear-streaked, he gently wiped the tears from her cheek and said coolly, "It's not that I don't want you. It's that you don't want me. Don't you want me to treat you well, to hold you, to kiss you? Don't you want to win me back?"
His voice carried a kind of bewitching power.
So seductive.
It made Xia Xiran's heart skip a beat.
A moment later, Xia Xiran grasped the situation—the tender, gentle person before her was Yu Xi.
She shoved Yu Xi away in terror, falling flat on her backside. "You're Yu Xi!"
"Yes, but weren't you enjoying it just now? Why so scared now?" Yu Xi laughed, reaching a hand out to Xia Xiran.
But Xia Xiran scrambled away as if she couldn't avoid him fast enough, shrinking into the corner in a panic. "What are you doing here?"
