Chapter 25: So Our Family Was Secretly Rich All Along...
"Dad, Mom!" Jiang Muye called out warmly.
When they saw their handsome, tall son appear, Jiang's father and mother were delighted. "Son, you're here."
Jiang's father moved to take Jiang Muye's luggage, but Jiang Muye politely declined with a smile. "No need, it's not heavy. I can carry it."
"Good, good, good. Let's go home," Jiang's father said lovingly.
"Dad, Mom, the taxis are over here. Where are you going?" Seeing his parents heading toward the parking lot in the opposite direction, Jiang Muye was suddenly very puzzled.
" silly child, of course we're taking the car," Jiang's father said with a smile. "Why would we take a taxi?"
"Car? Since when does our family have a car?" Jiang Muye looked confused.
Normally they wouldn't even spring for a taxi, preferring to walk a long way to catch the bus—and now they were saying they had a car?
"Did someone give you a ride?" Jiang Muye asked curiously.
Jiang's father nodded. "Yeah, the driver brought us."
"Oh, you called a private car."
He figured it was some kind of ride-hailing service. Booking through a phone app was a bit cheaper.
But Jiang's mother shook her head. "It's not a private car. It's our car."
"Huh?" Jiang Muye was now completely in the dark.
"You'll find out in a bit," Jiang's mother said mysteriously.
Jiang Muye grew even more confused.
Was there something they were hiding from him?
Soon they arrived at the parking lot.
"Come on, good son, get in the car." Jiang's father waved Jiang Muye over smugly.
Jiang Muye took a critical hit.
He realized his parents had led him to a black Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended.
A neatly dressed driver was there, and he eagerly got out and opened the door for them.
"Sir, Madam, Young Master, please get in."
When Jiang Muye heard the driver's words, he was shocked. "What's going on?"
Calling them Sir and Madam, and calling him Young Master?
This had to be a dream!
Jiang's mother smiled at Jiang Muye. "We'll explain slowly once we're in the car."
Jiang Muye hurriedly got in.
The car really was luxurious—especially spacious and comfortable. Not only was there a luxurious sofa, but there was even a wine cabinet and a fridge.
As Jiang Muye looked around in shock, he noticed his parents were looking at him seriously. "Son, you need to prepare yourself for what we're about to say."
Jiang Muye gulped down a mouthful of saliva. "Could I have been switched at birth in the hospital, and I'm actually the only son of some rich man?"
He had already copied every plot point from TV dramas.
"Son, how could such a melodramatic plot happen?" Jiang's mother gave Jiang Muye a look.
"Then what is it?"
Jiang Muye was full of curiosity.
Jiang's father took a deep breath. "Your auntie inherited a fortune of hundreds of millions. Now you're her only heir. After she passes away, all those hundreds of millions will be yours."
"What!" Jiang Muye was stunned. "My auntie—didn't you say she went to Africa to work? Is working there really that lucrative!"
Jiang's father said, "That was a joke. She went abroad to get married—but she married a rich old man old enough to be her grandfather! Now the old man is dead, and she has no children, so she's decided to make you her heir. That's why she's come back."
A massive fortune falling from the sky!
Jiang Muye was completely stunned!
When he was little, he'd fantasized about being a rich young master switched at birth, or that his parents were secretly billionaires pretending to be poor to keep him from squandering the family fortune.
But that had never happened.
His parents weren't billionaires—but now his auntie was!
Jiang Muye was overjoyed. The system really didn't lie to him!
The Lucky Emperor Experience Voucher was awesome!
Jiang Muye felt absolutely wonderful inside.
Soon, the driver began driving them to a super luxurious villa, no worse than the duplex ocean-view villa at Jiangling Garden the system had given him!
It could be called extremely luxurious!
Jiang Muye had just gotten out of the car when he heard an extremely happy voice.
"Muye, you're here!"
Jiang Muye looked toward the sound and saw a gorgeously dressed, beautiful woman running over.
This was his first time meeting his auntie.
Before, he'd only seen her in photos, and even then he'd known his auntie was a super beauty.
Now, seeing her in person, he felt she was even prettier than in the photos.
And after all these years, she'd really taken good care of herself. She looked like she was only in her early thirties—who could tell she was a woman approaching fifty?
"You're my auntie?" Jiang Muye asked blankly.
"Yes. Muye, you're truly outstanding. When I left, you were just a tiny little thing, still drinking milk in your swaddling clothes—and now you've become such a handsome young man." His auntie said with a laugh, "Come, let's go inside. This is your home."
"My home?" Jiang Muye was shocked.
His auntie smiled. "I bought this house especially for you. Consider it a welcome gift."
Jiang Muye had never imagined his auntie would be so generous. Flattered, he said, "Auntie, no, I can't accept this."
A mansion as a first-meeting gift?
It directly shattered Jiang Muye's worldview.
"We're family. You're my heir—what's mine is yours. You can't take it with you when you go. Spending money on my heir makes me happy!" His auntie was full of confidence.
"But…"
"No buts. Come on, you must be hungry. I've prepared a table full of good food for you." His auntie affectionately ruffled Jiang Muye's head.
The more she looked at Jiang Muye, the more satisfied she was.
What a kind young man—good stock, and handsome too.
As her heir, he was really something to be proud of.
Besides, blood was thicker than water. The first time she saw him, she felt a closeness, and couldn't help wanting to treat him well.
His auntie felt her decision to make Jiang Muye her heir was correct. Even if she trained a new heir from scratch, could she find anyone better than her nephew?
Besides, keep the good stuff in the family.
Naturally, his auntie wanted to leave her fortune to her own family. After all, how could the fortune she'd worked so hard to gain with her youth be cheaply given to outsiders?
After Jiang Muye arrived at the dining room, he was completely stunned.
A table full of good dishes—over forty in total—had completely filled the table. Every dish was beautifully plated, with carved garnishes.
Mm, these were delicacies he normally couldn't afford.
Just looking at them, he could tell they were expensive.
Seeming to sense Jiang Muye's surprise, his auntie said with a smile, "I didn't know what you liked to eat, so I prepared a bit of everything—all eight major cuisines. If it's not enough, just tell me."
"Auntie, this is plenty, plenty." Even if Jiang Muye ate these dishes for a week, he couldn't finish them.
"That's good." His auntie began putting food in Jiang Muye's bowl, very enthusiastically.
Jiang Muye's bowl was already so full it was about to overflow.
Only after Jiang Muye said it was too much did his auntie stop adding more.
She really was too enthusiastic.
"Eat slowly. Later, a lawyer is coming," his auntie said with a smile.
"A lawyer?"
What were they trying to do?
