Chapter 344: What Did I Do to You
Rejected 99 Times, the Aloof Campus Belle Comes On Strong
Boss Cutie
His mood improved even more, and he played basketball with more enthusiasm than before.
After playing for a while, they took a mid-game break.
Leng Ruoli walked over to Jiang Muye's side. She wasn't gentle about it at all—she carelessly tossed a bottle of mineral water into Jiang Muye's arms.
Seeing her sulky expression, Jiang Muye instinctively grabbed her wrist and pulled her back into his arms. "What's wrong? Who made you mad?"
"You." Leng Ruoli pointed a finger at him.
Jiang Muye laughed. "What did I do to you?"
"Forget it if you don't know." Leng Ruoli was clearly angry at Jiang Muye, her eyes full of resentment, and she made to leave.
Jiang Muye laughed and pulled her back, rubbing her waist and coaxing her, "My fault~ It was a spontaneous thing, I was sweating and there were no tissues, so I just wiped casually. It's not like I was deliberately trying to flirt with girls."
"You could've called me." Leng Ruoli's hand lightly pinched Jiang Muye's waist, and he drew a sharp breath.
Looking at the tsundere Leng Ruoli before him, he smiled and grabbed her fair hand. "Alright, next time I'll call you. I won't do that anymore in the future, that good enough?"
After hearing his guarantee, Leng Ruoli cheered up considerably.
A hint of spirit returned to her eyes, and she smiled sweetly.
At that moment, a bouncing figure came running from the distance, carrying large and small bags in her hands.
A light blue flower-girl dress made her look like a Disney runaway princess.
Her skin was fair, her eyes bright and teeth white, and her thick long lashes and natural blush gave her entire makeup a playful, bright look.
"Brother~ Sister-in-law! I've got great news!"
Who else could that cheerful voice belong to but Jiang Xueli?
Jiang Muye saw that Jiang Xueli looked like she was about to jump out of her skin, and asked, "What is it?"
Jiang Xueli's eyes sparkled as she said happily to Jiang Muye, "You're super amazing! Huge success! Guess how many copies of our personal zine sold?"
Jiang Muye guessed, "Fifty thousand?"
"No." Jiang Xueli shook her head.
Leng Ruoli started guessing. "A hundred thousand?"
"Of course not!"
"A million?" Jiang Muye guessed again.
Jiang Xueli got smug. "Guess again."
Jiang Muye thought for a moment, then said, "Three million?"
"That's right, exactly three million!" Jiang Xueli danced with joy.
The personal zine was presold online.
A total of a hundred thousand copies sold out in under half an hour. Even scalpers could barely get their hands on one, which left Jiang Xueli's fans wailing across the internet.
Lots of people started protesting, feeling that the print run had to be increased.
Jiang Xueli then listed three million copies, thinking that would more than cover it—and they sold out in under an hour.
Nobody had expected this outcome.
After all, Jiang Xueli's previous best was a million copies, and now it was three million! Completely sold out!
This was entirely thanks to Jiang Muye's overwhelming popularity~! After all, the Nation's Husband's ability wasn't just talk.
Jiang Xueli shared happily, "And that's a limited number too—if we added more, it'd definitely be way more than that! Brother, you're too amazing!"
Jiang Muye hadn't expected it either. After all, books and magazines weren't doing well these days, and it was hard to move them—especially for an unreleased publication to sell this many. For a newcomer like Jiang Muye, it was an affirmation.
"This is the team's accomplishment."
"You're being modest! When those photos of you leaked out as a test, everyone loved you—they all felt you really brought Lord Aotian to life~ Ugh, I don't even have a copy myself, I like it so much." Jiang Xueli was visibly overjoyed.
She started handing the things in her hands to Jiang Muye. "Brother, hold these."
Jiang Muye opened them and found, besides a bunch of snacks, a four-inch air strawberry cake that stuffed the bag completely full.
"This is to reward Eldest Brother, for doing me such a huge favor!" Jiang Xueli wiggled her little waist and flashed a sweet smile. "Brother, Sister-in-law, I'm off—I still have some work left to finish~"
Jiang Muye, Leng Ruoli, and Jiang Xueli said their goodbyes.
When the other team members saw Jiang Muye had received so many snacks, their first thought was envy.
"I really want some~ These imported snacks are super expensive, but they're so good!"
"I'm so jealous of Muye—he's got the Cold Campus Belle fussing over him and Campus Belle Jiang eagerly currying favor, while I've got nothing and still get force-fed dog food."
Even Little White Dove and Old He were dying of cravings.
"Are we brothers or not? Hand over the snacks."
Faced with the threat, Jiang Muye said smugly, "Nope, I'm going to eat them with Ruoli."
"Tsk tsk tsk, seriously valuing beauty over friends—does that even sound like something a human would say!" Little White Dove started grumbling.
Jiang Muye chuckled.
Just as Little White Dove and the others were about to leave in disappointment, Jiang Muye grabbed them. "Alright, you think I'd leave you out? Let's eat together."
After Jiang Muye divided up the large and small bags of snacks, he kept the sea salt crackers and strawberry cake that Leng Ruoli loved most.
He picked up the strawberry cake and led Leng Ruoli by the hand to the steps of the bleachers.
There were still candles in the bag.
Jiang Muye instinctively stuck them into the cake.
Leng Ruoli looked at him in confusion. "Is today some kind of holiday?"
"Yeah," Jiang Muye paused. "Ours."
"It's not our anniversary." Leng Ruoli thought for a moment and answered.
"Every day we're together is worth celebrating." Jiang Muye lightly flicked Leng Ruoli's forehead. "And it's to cheer you up—didn't someone get jealous just now?"
Leng Ruoli smiled shyly.
Jiang Muye took out the matches and lit the candles.
The candles flickered to life with a warm glow.
"Come on, blow out the candles." Jiang Muye urged Leng Ruoli on.
"Hey, let's do it together." Leng Ruoli looked at him sweetly.
Jiang Muye agreed, and so he and Leng Ruoli blew out the candles together.
After blowing out the candles, they discovered a fatal problem.
"There's no knife or fork." Leng Ruoli murmured.
Jiang Muye searched around. "There really isn't."
"Then I'll go get some from the dorm." Leng Ruoli moved to get up, but Jiang Muye caught her hand.
Jiang Muye took the opportunity to pull Leng Ruoli onto his lap.
He wrapped his arms around her slender waist and leaned close to her ear. "No need. We're a couple—who cares about that stuff? However we want to do it is fine."
Jiang Muye held up the cake and brought it to Leng Ruoli's lips. "Here, take a bite."
Leng Ruoli understood what Jiang Muye meant.
They'd kissed n times already—who cared about whose saliva anymore?
Normally, whatever Leng Ruoli couldn't finish, Jiang Muye would help polish off.
So Jiang Muye and Leng Ruoli shared it together.
One bite each, and after each bite, they'd feed the other.
Just as Jiang Muye was about to take a bite, Leng Ruoli, under the pretense of handing him cake, quickly dabbed cream onto his lips.
Jiang Muye's mouth had cream on it now.
Looking at Leng Ruoli, who was laughing like she'd forgotten herself, he squinted and said, "Oh ho, so you like playing these little couple games."
