Chapter 427: Killing Each Other

Jiang Muye didn't dare let Leng Ruoli stay in the movie theater any longer. After explaining the situation to her, the two of them immediately returned to the hospital ward.

Several bodyguards hung their heads low, their faces full of fear and guilt. They clearly knew they had messed up.

Jiang Muye pinched the space between his brows, somewhat angry. "You couldn't even keep watch over a single person. What exactly happened!"

Faced with Jiang Muye's reprimand, the burly men grew more panicked one after another.

"Where is he?" Huo Zhenghao asked.

"Upstairs," his subordinate reminded him.

Huo Zhenghao glanced at a certain lit room on the top floor, looking thoughtful.

He pushed up his glasses and quickly headed up.

"You're the only one who needs to be here. Everyone else, get out." After Huo Zhenghao pushed open the door, he saw a man in a bathrobe sitting on the sofa, drinking champagne.

The man's gaze swept lightly over Huo Zhenghao, and the corners of his thin lips curved up slightly, giving off a seductive yet mysterious feeling.

Huo Zhenghao's brows furrowed.

He felt the person before him was both familiar and strange.

To avoid any complications, Huo Zhenghao could only arrange things as he was told.

"You all, get out," Huo Zhenghao said to his subordinates.

Although the subordinates were a bit uneasy, there was nothing they could do about it and they left.

After the door closed, Huo Zhenghao walked up to Yu Xi and said with a fawning smile, "The evidence? Where is it? Hand it to me, won't you?"

Yu Xi raised an eyebrow and directly handed Huo Zhenghao a wine glass. "Have a drink."

Huo Zhenghao was stunned, then laughed out loud. "No, can't we get to something practical?"

"You're afraid I drugged it." The corners of Yu Xi's mouth lifted, and in front of Huo Zhenghao, he directly downed the wine in the glass.

A ripple appeared in Huo Zhenghao's eyes.

Yu Xi smiled. "See? There's nothing wrong with it."

"Of course I'm not suspecting you." Huo Zhenghao sat down in front of Yu Xi. "I'm saying there's still plenty of things at the company to deal with later. Let's not waste each other's time. You should get some good rest too. You're injured, after all. Go to sleep early."

Yu Xi stretched and nodded. "Yeah, a patient should rest well. Mm, I really am pretty tired."

"Then give it to me." Huo Zhenghao shamelessly pressed.

Yu Xi looked down on Huo Zhenghao with disdain. "Do you really want it?"

"Yes."

Yu Xi directly pulled a USB drive out of the drawer.

Huo Zhenghao was overjoyed when he saw it.

He swiftly snatched up the USB drive, and without another word rushed into the bathroom.

Boom— Huo Zhenghao threw it into the toilet and quickly flushed it down.

After he let out a breath of relief, he heard an eerie voice. "You're pretty fast."

Huo Zhenghao saw Yu Xi leaning against the doorframe, holding a stemmed glass.

Yu Xi's eyes held a trace of mockery.

Huo Zhenghao stopped putting on an act entirely and cursed with disgust, "Fuck, you dead eunuch, did you really think you could threaten me! I told you, you're like a three-year-old child, too naive. You actually believed whatever I said, and now you've handed me the USB drive!"

Yu Xi didn't move, just watched Huo Zhenghao with deep, dark eyes. He even lifted his eyelids and took another sip of champagne.

Huo Zhenghao continued cursing, "You're just a dog to me, and you dare bully your master! Without me, you'd still be the person who spreads their legs for anyone to screw! On what basis do you get to change your appearance? To me you're a stinking bug, insignificant. Having Jiang Muye's face is already reaching above your station, and you still don't know how to be satisfied!"

Huo Zhenghao hated Yu Xi to death now. The progress had been slow, and the whole thing had been exposed.

If only he had controlled a different puppet back then, maybe he would have succeeded by now.

Would Huo Zhenghao still be as miserable as he was now, being oppressed by others?
