Chapter 436: My Girlfriend Is Soft and Fragrant
When Jiang Muye saw Xiang Shan leave so easily without pestering him, and after she said she wanted to treat him to a meal, he breathed a quiet breath of relief.
He'd read the situation wrong. She had no interest in him at all.
Well, of course. A mature woman like that, whose first love had been an older man like that uncle—someone who looked so much older than her—how could she be interested in a younger guy like him?
A woman like that probably had a father complex, which was why she pursued such an age gap.
But it had nothing to do with him anyway.
He didn't like mature women, and he didn't like older sisters either.
When Jiang Muye thought of his cute, beautiful girlfriend, he could not help but smile.
His own girlfriend was the best—soft and fragrant, and gentle too.
Fearing his girlfriend was getting anxious waiting, and since he'd been gone a bit long, Jiang Muye hurried back into the nail salon. He'd assumed the battle was already over, but to his surprise, Leng Ruoli was still getting her nails done.
Sigh, you really have to pay a price for pretty girls.
"Back already?" Leng Ruoli didn't turn around. She'd just heard Jiang Muye's footsteps and instinctively knew it was him, turning around to give him a sweet smile.
Jiang Muye wrapped his arms around Leng Ruoli's neck from behind, leaning forward. "You knew it was me without even looking?"
Leng Ruoli nodded with a smile. "Yep, I know you too well."
Jiang Muye secretly lowered his head, about to whisper something in Leng Ruoli's ear.
Leng Ruoli was puzzled and instinctively leaned in.
Who would've thought—chu—her ear had actually been kissed by him.
Feeling his hot lips against her ear, Leng Ruoli's little face turned bright red. To outsiders it looked like the two were whispering, but in reality they were nuzzling and murmuring.
Leng Ruoli's face was flushed crimson as she glanced at Jiang Muye.
Jiang Muye was still looking at her with the expression of someone who'd gotten his way.
That made her even more embarrassed.
"Take your time, it looks good," Jiang Muye pulled over a nearby chair and sat down. He didn't rush to drink his milk tea, but instead gave the first sip to Leng Ruoli, who couldn't easily drink it herself.
After tasting the pearls, Leng Ruoli's mood brightened considerably.
"Want some chicken cutlet?" Jiang Muye had even bought snacks specially, so that Leng Ruoli wouldn't get too hungry while getting her nails done.
"Feed me, zookeeper~" Leng Ruoli broke into a grin.
"Okay, here, open up." Jiang Muye skewered a piece of chicken cutlet with a stick and brought it to Leng Ruoli's lips. He understood her mouth was on the smaller side and she ate slowly, so he patiently watched her chew and swallow.
Leng Ruoli was completely satisfied, just like a little hamster.
Seeing her happy and content expression, Jiang Muye's heart bloomed with joy too.
"Wait." Just as Jiang Muye was about to lower his head and drink his milk tea, he noticed Leng Ruoli, who was getting her nails done, instinctively lean over and sniff carefully with her nose, which instantly made Jiang Muye uneasy. "What's wrong?"
"There's a perfume smell." Leng Ruoli paused. "Women's perfume."
She raised her eyes and said, "I remember you weren't wearing this jacket when you left."
Seeing Leng Ruoli's puzzled look, Jiang Muye was afraid she'd misunderstand, so he immediately started explaining. "I helped a woman—she's a bit older than me. I helped her fix her car before, and today I ran into her by chance and the milk tea accidentally spilled on me, so she bought me a set of clothes as compensation. That's all, don't let your imagination run wild."
Jiang Muye continued to stress. "That woman's criteria for a partner isn't someone like me. She clearly has some father complex, likes men much older than her. I'm not in her range—especially since I have a girlfriend!"
Seeing Jiang Muye's nervous and serious expression, Leng Ruoli burst out laughing. "Am I the kind of unreasonable girlfriend who'd make a scene?"
"Huh?" Jiang Muye was rather surprised.
Thinking about it carefully, Leng Ruoli really wasn't the type to easily suspect people. She was quite understanding.
"Then the way you're acting now…?"
Leng Ruoli answered Jiang Muye. "This perfume smell—it's very familiar."
"Huh?" Jiang Muye was taken aback.
"I've smelled it before, but where I smelled it, I've kind of forgotten." Leng Ruoli furrowed her brows and sniffed. "But I'm certain I've smelled someone wearing it."
"This perfume is probably a popular big-brand one, so it's normal someone's worn it." Seeing that Leng Ruoli's suspicion was only about this, Jiang Muye breathed a sigh of relief.
As long as she didn't misunderstand his loyalty and pick a fight with him, it was fine.
He didn't want any complications. Besides, fighting with a girlfriend was really exhausting.
"It's fine, but seeing how anxiously you explained, I'm happy." Leng Ruoli's eyes curved into a gentle arc.
Jiang Muye glared at Leng Ruoli. "What the hell, I'm like this and you're happy!"
Leng Ruoli smiled. "You being nervous means you care about me, and not giving me the cold shoulder means you respect me. Of course I should be happy."
Hearing her words, Jiang Muye's mood improved slightly. "That's more like it."
Leng Ruoli rested her head on his shoulder and sighed. "I used to hate spending so much time on dating, but now I feel it's totally worth it."
"Hahaha, am I a piece of merchandise?"
"A priceless treasure." Leng Ruoli's lips curved up. "When I'm happy, you're worth a fortune; when I'm not happy, you're worth nothing. Your value is set by me."
Jiang Muye sighed. "You're way too domineering."
"Hmph, I used to hate getting my nails done for so long, but now with you keeping me company, I feel like time flies." Leng Ruoli giggled.
Jiang Muye called her out. "Is that so? Before we got together, I saw you changing up your styles every few days."
After hearing Jiang Muye's teasing, Leng Ruoli's little face flushed bright red. "Jiang Muye!"
"You're calling me by my full name now?" Jiang Muye looked at her.
Leng Ruoli's ears turned bright red as she turned her face away. "You're bullying me."
"So you're allowed to poke fun at me, but I'm not allowed to call you out? You're so bad, so bad." Jiang Muye started imitating a goofy tone, squishing Leng Ruoli's tender little cheeks.
Leng Ruoli was terribly embarrassed, but she smiled sweetly and buried herself in Jiang Muye's arms. "Cut it out. Okay, stop messing around, or the nails won't get done."
Jiang Muye kissed Leng Ruoli's cheek. "Okay, as you command."
Then, while the nail technician was busy and not looking, Leng Ruoli snuck in a surprise attack—she raised her head and directly kissed Jiang Muye's thin lips.
After being stolen a kiss, Jiang Muye was stunned for a moment, then smirked, gently rubbing his forehead against Leng Ruoli's. "So you've learned to be bad, huh."
He pinched Leng Ruoli's pointed chin with his left hand, watching her face visibly redden, and he liked it immensely.
As the two nuzzled, the atmosphere growing more and more ambiguous, the nail technician's embarrassed voice rang out. "Um, miss, you can put your hand under the lamp now."
