Chapter 54: Fair Competition
"Boss Cutie."
"Muye, Sister Mi Lu."
When Jiang Muye heard that gentle, melodious voice, he immediately raised his head.
He saw Leng Ruoli, dressed in a blue-and-white JK uniform. She was like the first ray of morning light falling on the Alps, instantly brightening his eyes.
Her originally soft, beautiful long hair was now tied up in a high ponytail with a single blue ribbon. Her clothes were form-fitting, her peaks rising one after another, and they perfectly accentuated her slender waist, not to mention her long legs in white stockings—her leg shape was truly beautiful.
Compared to Mi Lu's bare legs, hers were much sexier. Just looking at them, they were slender and long, delicate and smooth as jade.
Leng Ruoli gazed at him with a hint of shyness, so beautiful she seemed ready to drip.
"Why are you here?" Mi Lu was the first to voice Jiang Muye's confusion.
"We called her here. Aren't we short on people for the team? So calling her shouldn't be a problem, right?" Kai cut in, then turned to Mi Lu. "Senior Mi Lu, you don't mind, do you?"
"No problem!" Mi Lu was a magnanimous person. Although Leng Ruoli's appearance was quite a surprise, she was more than happy to play games with Leng Ruoli—it would be livelier this way.
Besides, she'd agreed to compete fairly with Leng Ruoli. This was a shared opportunity for both of them, so why would she object?
Having a love rival, and such an outstanding one at that.
Only proved her taste wasn't bad—the man she'd set her sights on was worth pursuing.
Just as they were about to start the game, the front desk informed them, "Sorry, you've chosen the Fifth Madhouse theme, so eight people are needed to start the game. Do you mind teaming up with others?"
"Eight people needed, huh. Then let's call two more." Old He took a glance, then pulled out his phone contacts, checking to see if anyone was free to come.
At that moment, the staff member said, "It just so happens two beautiful ladies have arrived. Let's see if they can team up with you."
Everyone immediately looked over.
They saw two figures appearing as they came up the stairs from below.
Familiar people again!
It was Xia Xiran and the Girl with Glasses.
"You're here to play escape room too?" Little White Dove was quite surprised.
The Girl with Glasses nodded. "Yeah, this escape room is the most popular thing right now. Of course we had to come play."
In truth, she'd seen Jiang Muye and the others heading to the escape room, so she'd egged Xia Xiran into coming along.
After all, there was a rift between Jiang Muye and Xia Xiran now—it had to be repaired somehow. Being stuck in a stalemate forever wasn't going to work.
Xia Xiran should take the initiative and create an opportunity.
Having been rejected by Jiang Muye last time, Xia Xiran now looked at him with extremely fervent eyes.
She said in a halting voice, "Can we play together?"
"No," Jiang Muye said coldly.
He could accept Mi Lu, but playing with Xia Xiran?
Sorry, he refused.
"But if you don't add us, you won't be able to start the game." Xia Xiran bit her lower lip and said spitefully, "There aren't many people at this hour. You don't want to end up unable to play, do you?"
Just as she was gazing at Jiang Muye with infatuation, a figure stepped in front of him and said, "Sorry, but you should find someone else to team up with."
It was Leng Ruoli.
Her eyes were calm and indifferent, her overall aura cold as ice and frost, giving Xia Xiran a deep sense of estrangement.
Leng Ruoli didn't want to make things difficult for Jiang Muye.
Anything that would make things difficult for him, she would help resolve.
She really wanted to play games with Jiang Muye, but more than playing games, she wanted Jiang Muye to be happy.
Mi Lu stepped forward and echoed Leng Ruoli, saying, "That's right, you're not welcome here. I'll call people—isn't it just calling two people? That's nothing to me. I can pull a whole crowd over here with a wave of my hand! You two should think about how you're going to fill the remaining six spots."
This made Little White Dove gasp privately. "The Cold Campus Belle is really bold, saying that to Campus Belle Xia. Campus Belle Mi is so domineering too."
Old He nodded repeatedly. "Well said!"
Jiang Muye's gaze turned sharp as he looked at Xia Xiran and said coldly, "Even if we can't play the game, I still don't want to play with you. What I hate most is moral kidnapping."
Xia Xiran's little face went pale.
She could already see the coldness and disgust between Jiang Muye's brows.
She bit her crimson lips, and the hands hanging by her skirt began to clench into fists.
The Girl with Glasses couldn't stand it anymore. "Jiang Muye, what are you so cocky about! What makes you think you have the right to shout at Xiran? You really think you're hot shit. If Xiran didn't like you, would you be this proud? I think you've let it all go to your head!"
The Girl with Glasses even wanted to kick Jiang Muye, but he quickly dodged.
Smack— A vicious slap landed across the Girl with Glasses' face.
Everyone was stunned.
Everyone saw the Girl with Glasses clutching her face, staring blankly at the cold girl before her.
Leng Ruoli's palm stung, but she couldn't suppress her anger. Her beautiful almond eyes stared icily at the Girl with Glasses as she said, "He's let it go to his head? I spoil him! Who the hell are you, coming here to boss him around? You're the ones who have no right to talk about him!"
Leng Ruoli couldn't stand hearing a single bad word about Jiang Muye from outsiders, and she liked it even less when people misunderstood or attacked him.
She liked him. He was the best, the most perfect.
To her, he was half her sky. On what basis did they get to trample him into mud!
The Girl with Glasses was completely dumbfounded, then furious. She raised her hand to slap Leng Ruoli, but Leng Ruoli's wrist was grabbed and pulled, and a tall figure quickly rushed forward.
Bang— The Girl with Glasses was shoved away and her body crashed directly into the wall. She yelped in pain.
Xia Xiran grew anxious and ran over. "Are you okay?"
The Girl with Glasses' glasses had fallen right off. She was utterly bedraggled, and for the first time she felt this humiliated.
She flew into a rage. "How can you hit a girl!"
"So what if I hit you?" Jiang Muye raised his chin. "You deserved it. If you want to use being a girl to pressure me, that's just pathetic. I don't distinguish between men and women here—if you act like a bitch, you get hit."
Mi Lu stepped forward to shield Jiang Muye and said, "That's right. If you want to bully my man, I'll recycle you like trash~ This man is under my protection. If you don't like it, deal with it."
Jiang Muye's roommates also stepped forward. "We stand with Muzi here. If you want to pick a fight, we'll oblige."
The Girl with Glasses bit her back teeth in fury. She was deeply humiliated, but there were so many people on the other side, and every one of them was somebody. She was just an ordinary person—how could she fight them?
Xia Xiran was utterly disappointed. Her eyes were already brimming with tears as she stamped her foot and questioned, "Jiang Muye, aren't you going too far! Hitting people is already wrong, and you're twisting right and wrong, so many people ganging up on the two of us!"
"Who's twisting right and wrong? Originally I had two hearts, one good and one evil. But ever since I met you, only the good one's left—because you disgust me to death." Jiang Muye's gaze was cold as he said, "You're allowed to call people, call a whole crowd. Whether it's a war of words or a fight, I'm not afraid!"
