Chapter 611: Isn’t Swapping for a Mansion Easy as Pie?
Rejected 99 Times, the Aloof Campus Belle Comes On Strong at Me, Jiang Muye
Boss Cutie
Jiang Muye and Leng Ruoli exchanged a glance.
At the same time, the two of them said, "Let's just keep the original home. The duplex villa at Jiangling Garden."
"Wouldn't it be a bit small?" Father Leng felt it wasn't enough to live in.
"Dad, how is that small? The area is huge, and it's not like you're the one moving in," Leng Ruoli said with a smile and a shake of her head.
Her dad was used to living in a super-huge villa, so everything looked small to him.
Father Leng said, "Dad will buy you another one. You have to think about the children being born later. They'll be twins, you know. By then, the area at home will seem a bit small!"
Jiang Muye felt that actually made some sense. "Alright, Dad, I'll buy a bigger place when the time comes."
"No, I think that one is quite nice. It has our memories. Besides, even if it's twins, it's still big enough," Leng Ruoli said seriously.
It was more than six hundred square meters in total, with several rooms. The area really wasn't small.
If they had to leave, Leng Ruoli definitely wouldn't be willing.
There were truly too many memories belonging to her and Jiang Muye there.
"If my daughter has no objections, then let's leave it at that," Father Leng said, indulging his daughter as always, and simply went along with Leng Ruoli.
"Now it's time to come up with the guest list. Later we'll need to send out the Engagement Invitations," Father Jiang said.
"Since it's just an engagement for now, I don't think we need too many tables. We can invite people grandly when the wedding comes. For now, just some relatives and friends is better," Father Leng said after a moment's thought.
He didn't want his daughter's engagement banquet to have too much of a commercial feel, with fake smiles for people they weren't even familiar with.
"Alright, no problem on my end," Jiang Muye agreed without even thinking.
"I don't mind either." Leng Ruoli gave Jiang Muye a gentle smile.
She felt that as long as the groom was there, she didn't care about anything else at the engagement banquet.
There was a hint of warmth in Jiang Muye's eyes.
He gripped Leng Ruoli's hand firmly, feeling very happy.
So both families began drawing up the guest lists, and then each started preparing the things they needed to buy for the engagement banquet.
Later that evening, everyone did an inventory together and settled on the style of the wedding candy.
Jiang Muye caught the fresh scent of candy, and then discovered that Leng Ruoli had secretly taken one and, lowering her head, stealthily popped it into her mouth.
"Want one?" After Leng Ruoli noticed Jiang Muye looking over, she asked with a smile.
"My silly little wife." Jiang Muye found her too adorable. "You're being all sneaky about it."
Especially since she even wanted to secretly grab candy for him. Could she be any more of a goof.
Leng Ruoli's little face flushed red, and she stuffed the candy into Jiang Muye's palm. "Eat it."
"Is that enough for you?" Jiang Muye teased. "If it's not, I'll grab you some more."
As he spoke, Jiang Muye reached out and grabbed a big handful straight from the box, stuffing them into Leng Ruoli's pocket.
Only Leng Ruoli and Jiang Muye knew what was going on. She was smiling so much she couldn't close her mouth. "You're doing this openly now."
"Hmph, so what? This is our wedding candy."
Doted on so lovingly, Leng Ruoli felt extremely happy. She leaned against Jiang Muye, unwrapped a candy for him, and fed it into his mouth.
"Green apple flavor, so sweet." The candy really made Jiang Muye feel a lot of sweetness, and eating it could keep him happy all day.
But seeing Leng Ruoli's sweet smile made him even happier.
There was a whole pile of things at home that needed sorting out. The sky gradually grew late, and soon it was dinnertime.
"Let Auntie cook," Leng Ruoli said to Jiang Muye, ready to have the nanny make dinner.
But Jiang Muye said mysteriously, "No need. Someone will come to do it in a bit."
"Ah, who?" Just as Leng Ruoli felt puzzled, she already saw several chefs walking in from outside.
"We're the chefs from Lanting Restaurant," the other party introduced themselves.
Leng Ruoli looked at Jiang Muye in surprise. "You arranged this?"
"Yeah. Didn't we need to settle on the menu? But a certain little glutton specifically asked to try the dishes."
Jiang Muye had paid a high price to bring in the chefs, all to fulfill Leng Ruoli's wish and keep her from having any regrets.
"But can we finish so much food?" Leng Ruoli murmured. "It'll go to waste."
"If there's leftovers, we can pack them up for the stray cats to eat. That works too."
"Alright." Leng Ruoli thought that was actually a good idea, but she was very curious. "When did you find people to do this?"
"Right when I said during the day that I needed to use the bathroom." Jiang Muye gently reminded her.
Leng Ruoli's eyes rolled around, and then they immediately lit up. "So you were already preparing back then. You even lied to me."
"Well, it was to prepare a surprise for you."
"It really did surprise me. I love it." Leng Ruoli's eyes were full of tenderness as she firmly clasped hands with Jiang Muye, looking completely satisfied.
The head chef began cooking, with assistant chefs helping out, and after a while the dishes were done.
Everyone started eating.
Jiang Muye still thought about Leng Ruoli's tastes. "How is it? You think this one's good, right?"
Leng Ruoli nodded in satisfaction. "I think we can add it."
"Then try this dish too." Jiang Muye pushed the plate toward Leng Ruoli.
Leng Ruoli was about to pick up some food, but then she saw that several other people were watching.
Her little face turned bright red, and she said, "Dad and Mom need to eat too. Don't let me eat it all."
"It's fine, there's so much food. You've got the most people in there, one person eating for three. You eat your fill first." Jiang Muye coaxed Leng Ruoli dotingly.
Leng Ruoli felt a bit embarrassed, but relying on Jiang Muye's favor, she didn't care about anything else and just ate whatever she wanted.
And so, she ate until she was satisfied.
"I think this Stinky Mandarin Fish has to be added." Father Jiang had drunk a little liquor and ended up butting heads with Father Leng.
Father Leng was rather repulsed by the smell of Stinky Mandarin Fish. "No way, it's too stinky, I can't eat it. Don't add it. Besides, adding a stinky dish to a perfectly good banquet is no good!"
"The flavor is absolutely superb. All the folks back in my hometown eat this. It's great." Father Jiang wouldn't back down.
"I said no, and I mean no." Father Leng slapped the table, his face a little red from the drinking too. "Any other dish is fine, but this one can't be served!"
Jiang Muye and Leng Ruoli exchanged a glance and immediately laughed.
The two of them were now like a pair of mischievous old kids, arguing endlessly.
In the end, Jiang Muye was gloating, only to become the unlucky one.
"Son, you say which one to pick!"
"Son-in-Law, you tell me, do you stand with me or with your dad!"
Both of them were looking at Jiang Muye with tipsy, bleary eyes.
Jiang Muye was now caught in a dilemma.
On the left was his dad.
On the right was his Father-in-Law.
Offending either was no good.
It was comparable to the question of your mom and your wife falling into a river, and then seeing who you'd save.
Leng Ruoli covered her mouth, smiling sweetly, especially happy.
Jiang Muye gently tightened his grip on Leng Ruoli's fingers, giving them a light pinch as punishment.
