Chapter 64: Forgetting Friends for a Pretty Face

99 Proposals Rejected, the Aloof Campus Belle Forcefully Flirts With Me, Jiang Muye

Boss Cutie

She spread her hand open, revealing the back of it.

A single White Rabbit Creamy Candy sat quietly in her palm.

"For you," a crisp female voice said softly.

Jiang Muye whipped his head toward the owner of that voice. Her big, grape-like eyes, framed by feathered lashes, blinked at him.

"I only grabbed two today. One for you, one for me." She gave a soft smile. Her crimson lips contrasted beautifully with her fair skin—she looked adorable. "Good things have to be shared to be sweet."

Jiang Muye's mouth curved smoothly into a grin.

He snatched up that candy, then watched as Leng Ruoli furtively lowered her head, dodging the professor's sharp gaze, and slipped a candy between her red lips.

In that instant, Jiang Muye was pulled into a memory.

Back in high school, he'd sneaked food like this too, terrified the teacher would catch him. Remembering it now still felt sweet. When had that feeling faded away? It had been gone for a long time.

Jiang Muye copied her, lowering his head to pop a candy into his mouth.

Their eyes met.

Leng Ruoli's eyes curved like crescent moons, her pupils sparkling like brilliant pearls.

Jiang Muye couldn't help but feel happy too.

A creamy sweetness flooded his mouth—quite sweet indeed.

White Rabbit Creamy Candy, yyds. He'd eaten them all the time as a kid, until he got sick of them no matter how he ate them. After growing up, he rarely touched them. Now he was savoring one all over again.

"You actually eat White Rabbit?" Jiang Muye was astonished.

"Why can't I?" Leng Ruoli looked curious. "Is it that strange for me to eat them?"

"I figured you only ate imported candy." After all, Leng Ruoli's family was so well-off.

Leng Ruoli's little face heated up. She turned to Jiang Muye and said, "Imported or domestic, as long as I like it, I'll keep eating it."

Just like how she liked a person—no matter what outsiders said about him, she would keep liking him, steadfastly.

In her heart, she would definitely decide that person was the best.

As Jiang Muye and Leng Ruoli whispered together in their own little space, Xia Xiran watched from the back row, her eyes burning.

She bit down on her red lip with her pearly teeth, so humiliated she was about to cry.

Yesterday someone had said Jiang Muye and Leng Ruoli were progressing fast, already appearing in the cafeteria as a pair, and she hadn't believed it.

But now, seeing Jiang Muye and Leng Ruoli acting so intimately, she felt as if her chest had been viciously pounded.

Mi Lu looked back at Xia Xiran's expression, thoroughly entertained.

Though she was a little jealous too.

After all, the boy she liked was chatting with another girl.

But then again, she was having a great time.

If only someone would hand her some sunflower seeds to crack—this drama was just too good.

Look at Xia Xiran's face, like a palette—all sorts of colors.

After enjoying the show, Mi Lu added fuel to the fire. She immediately lowered her head too and said to Jiang Muye and Leng Ruoli, "Hmph, you two won't even let me play. Fine then, Ruoli, you're forgetting your friend the moment you see a pretty face—you and Muye each get one and you forgot all about me."

"N-no~" Leng Ruoli's little face turned red.

"You say no, but where's the candy?" Mi Lu pretended to be huffy, holding out her palm to demand candy.

"There's none left…" Leng Ruoli looked at Mi Lu innocently.

She'd been in a hurry leaving the house and only brought two candies.

Exactly one for her and one for Jiang Muye—gone.

"What, no candy so you're gonna cause trouble?" Jiang Muye glanced sideways at Mi Lu. "It's not Halloween. Here, take this."

Mi Lu thought Jiang Muye had candy to give her and waited happily.

But when Jiang Muye's hand reached over, Mi Lu looked and didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

That wasn't candy!

It was just the wrapper!

"Fine then, you two eat candy and I eat wrappers—unfair!" Mi Lu harrumphed. "Careful, or I'll report you to the professor."

"Report away, I'm not scared." Jiang Muye's mouth quirked up.

Mi Lu thought about it—true enough. Jiang Muye was a college student now; why would he be afraid of being reported? Besides, she was only joking, teasing the two of them. She wasn't so petty.

So she didn't pull any little tricks.

Just as Jiang Muye was about to raise his head to look at the blackboard, he happened to move in perfect sync with Leng Ruoli.

And so Jiang Muye's head knocked right into Leng Ruoli's.

"Ow." Leng Ruoli held her forehead, softly voicing her pain.

Jiang Muye didn't think it hurt much. He looked at Leng Ruoli. "You okay?"

Leng Ruoli's long hair, draped over her shoulders like light gauze, slid softly as her shoulders shifted. Her delicate, pretty rose lips immediately curved into a smile. "I'm fine."

"Sorry, did I hurt you?" Jiang Muye felt terrible. He reached out and started rubbing Leng Ruoli's head for her.

Her forehead was full and smooth. As Jiang Muye rubbed, the silky feel of her skin was so comfortable.

He simply couldn't bear to stop.

Looking at Leng Ruoli with her head lowered, her eyes like clear water, her pretty little face flushed and hot, Jiang Muye actually felt a bit dry-mouthed.

"Better now?" Jiang Muye asked.

"Mm, much better." Leng Ruoli smiled gently.

Her heart was already wandering happily.

Wonderful—Jiang Muye was rubbing her head on his own initiative. So blissful.

Tonight she wouldn't be able to sleep again~

"Does it hurt for you too? Want me to rub it for you?" Leng Ruoli was eager to try.

"Me? Haha, I'm a man—it'd be weird if it hurt." Jiang Muye didn't care at all. He didn't have an iron head, but he really didn't feel much pain.

Leng Ruoli let out a breath of relief, her voice sweet. "That's good then."

Jiang Muye listened to the lecture for a while, then checked his watch. There was still an hour until class ended—so long.

He'd been up playing games until midnight again last night, and now he was dead tired.

Jiang Muye figured he might as well take a nap. That way he wouldn't waste the skill the System had given him, and he was curious to see just how much it could improve his sleep quality.

"I'm sleepy. Wake me when class ends." Jiang Muye spoke lazily to Leng Ruoli.

"Okay."

"If the professor comes down, wake me too."

"Mm." Leng Ruoli nodded, her face flushed red.

Having said all that, Jiang Muye yawned and buried his head to sleep.

He slept soundly.

His head happened to be facing Leng Ruoli.

Leng Ruoli gazed at his face, captivated. It was especially dazzling.

His eyelashes were so long—longer than a girl's, she felt.

Thinking of how stubborn and unruly he'd looked all those years ago, her heart ached a little.

Leng Ruoli lay down on her desk, watching him very quietly.

She hadn't watched for long before her rosy, pretty lips unconsciously curved upward.

But then she noticed the sunlight slanting in from outside was too glaring.

It was shining right on Jiang Muye's eyes.

She could feel Jiang Muye's brow furrow slightly.

He definitely wasn't sleeping comfortably.

Leng Ruoli acted at once, grabbing her book and blocking the sunlight falling on Jiang Muye's face.

A shadow fell over Jiang Muye's face, and he was clearly much more comfortable.

Watching Jiang Muye sink into deep sleep, Leng Ruoli's lips rippled into a faint smile.

She kept holding the book up and never lowered it.

Mi Lu saw the whole thing.

Mi Lu was astonished, then shook her head.

Look at how silly Leng Ruoli was.

He didn't even know you were blocking the sun for him—what kind of chance to show off was that?

Besides, holding a book up was so tiring.

But Leng Ruoli just kept holding it, never letting it down.

She held on all the way until the dismissal bell rang.

At the very instant Jiang Muye slowly opened his eyes, Leng Ruoli flustered and pulled her hand back, covering up her panic.

"Awake?" Leng Ruoli smiled lightly at Jiang Muye, her hand unconsciously kneading her numb left hand.

"Mm, slept well." Jiang Muye stretched and got up. "No more classes. I gotta head back to the dorm."

"Okay." Leng Ruoli nodded, her little face flushed red. She hugged her books and moved to follow him out.

For Jiang Muye to get out of his seat, he had to go past Mi Lu.

But Mi Lu stretched out her pretty long legs, looked at Jiang Muye, and spread her slender arms, her red lips acting coy, "This road was paved by me. To pass this road, you gotta at least give me a touch!"
