Chapter 753: Destroying the Brat
"An endless conversation—and all embarrassing stuff. Like how I secretly snipped a bit of the girl in the front row's hair with a pair of scissors, then tried to summon a zombie with it, and ended up getting a fierce lecture from her parents!" As Jiang Muye thought back on it, his face began to burn.
Sure, it was silly, but it was endlessly fun.
Leng Ruoli, on the other hand, was delighted when she heard it, and she latched onto the key point: "You cut off someone's hair. Does that mean you liked that girl? After all, that's how TV dramas always go—when a boy bullies a girl, it's usually because he's interested in her."
Jiang Muye's lips curved upward. He leaned in and kissed Leng Ruoli's forehead, then said, "If you want to know, that's a different price."
"Oh, so you didn't deny it. That means you did like her." Leng Ruoli pouted, looking a little put out.
Seeing her cheeks puff up in a huff, Jiang Muye instinctively drew close and rubbed her waist as he said, "If I'd liked her, I would've won her over long ago. I didn't like her—I was little back then, running around in boxer shorts. What did I know about love and all that?"
In that regard, Jiang Muye really wasn't lying. He'd only started figuring things out in high school.
But even in high school, he'd never particularly liked anyone. It wasn't that he had no interest in watching those videos or in women—it was just that he'd never met anyone he liked.
The one he'd felt the most favorably toward in his memories was Xia Xiran. And considering he already knew he had a fiancée, he could never have fooled around with other girls, not even with flirty words.
Later, when he got to college, his heart stirred for Xia Xiran, and only then did he realize that the girl he'd had a crush on as a child was none other than Xia Xiran—his so-called fiancée.
Leng Ruoli's lips curved up faintly, and she gently stroked Jiang Muye's handsome face. "I'll trust you for now."
"You've heard all about me—now you tell me about the funny things from when you were little. I want to know more about you," Jiang Muye said, gazing at Leng Ruoli earnestly.
But Leng Ruoli lowered her eyes and said, "My childhood was pretty boring. Aside from all the bad stuff, all I can remember is a high-pressure life. From a young age I was put into bilingual classes, and after finishing those it was on to violin, cello, piano, saxophone…"
Hearing that, Jiang Muye could feel the oppression of it.
"Rich people have to learn a ton of stuff. If we ever have a baby, I'll let him play—play however he wants. As long as it doesn't cross the line into anything illegal or immoral, anything goes!" Jiang Muye had grown up playing exactly like that.
If he'd been free to play however he wanted, how could he not allow his child the same?
He was an ordinary person, and naturally he had to accept that his child would be an ordinary person too.
After hearing Jiang Muye's words, Leng Ruoli immediately felt a resonance, and she nodded at him repeatedly. "That's exactly what I think too. As long as my child is safe and happy, that's all that matters!"
Jiang Muye smiled happily. "Great!"
After Jiang Muye took Leng Ruoli around for another lap, they came upon a group of kids playing with firecrackers.
Leng Ruoli was so frightened that she hid behind Jiang Muye, her delicate, fair hands clutching tightly at the hem of his clothes. "I'm so scared."
Seeing Leng Ruoli trembling, Jiang Muye felt a pang of heartache.
He shielded his darling completely and said to her, "Don't be afraid. I'm here."
Actually, he'd been just as mischievous as a kid and loved throwing firecrackers—but he'd never once just tossed them around carelessly on a main road like this.
