Chapter 78: Leading the Brothers to Wealth
Boss Cutie
The System reminded: 【Host, you don't need to worry. You have the Mind Control skill.】
When Jiang Muye heard the System's reminder, he snapped to his senses.
That's right, how could he have forgotten such an incredibly awesome skill?
Jiang Muye immediately began using Mind Control, and before long the cold water began to turn into steaming hot water.
It was an absolutely satisfying wash. It could be said that he didn't even need to insert a card to heat it up, and he could still wash comfortably.
Jiang Muye also didn't need to rush through his washing like before. Now he washed at his own pace, took a hot shower, then began changing his clothes and blow-drying his hair.
When the people outside heard the whirring of the hair dryer from inside, they found it strange.
"What's going on? Where'd the hair dryer come from?"
"Who says it isn't? Aren't the lights out and the power cut now?"
"Sounds like it's coming from the bathroom. What's going on? But seriously, Muzi's gotten addicted to washing in the dark in there—he's been in there so long and still hasn't come out."
Old He, who urgently needed to pee, climbed straight down from his bed to check on the situation.
But who would've thought—the bathroom door opened and Jiang Muye came swaggering out.
Old He's eyes went wide as he stared at the brightly lit bathroom inside, unable to believe it. "What's going on? The lights are already out—how is there still electricity?"
Jiang Muye played dumb. "No idea. Something's probably wrong with the wiring. Maybe the bathroom lights don't get cut."
"Really?" Old He got excited. "Isn't that a super perk?! Awesome! No more needing to use a flashlight when going to the toilet."
There were public toilets in the hallway that stayed lit all night, but the problem was they were lazy and unwilling to make the trip, so they all made do with their own dorm bathroom.
"Who was it just now that was gloating? I'd like to teach him a lesson." Jiang Muye began cracking his knuckles, pop pop pop.
He walked toward Old He step by step, and Old He got scared stiff.
He gave Jiang Muye an awkward smile. "Eldest Brother, I was wrong, okay?"
Jiang Muye instinctively began to give him a proper punishment, to make Old He understand what it meant to know his place.
Old He was on the verge of going whimper-whimper in Jiang Muye's arms. "You're heartless, you're cruel, you don't—"
But under Jiang Muye's danger-filled gaze, Old He swallowed it back and gave a thumbs-up. "You're a really great guy."
"Stupid dog, weren't you going to the toilet? Don't you need to pee?" Jiang Muye laughed and scolded.
"Forgot the main thing—let me go take care of it quick." Old He went in with a grin.
Jiang Muye deliberately played a prank—bam, the lights went dark.
"Wah, where's my light? It's so dark!" Old He yelped.
Jiang Muye was laughing so hard he couldn't close his mouth. "You get to go to the toilet in the pitch dark—how great is that?"
"Usually it's bad enough that so many beauties chase after you, but now even the lightbulb is female—it only lights up for you alone. Fuck, it's really not fair!" Old He was thoroughly melancholy.
Seeing that the joke was about enough, how could Jiang Muye really let his bro go to the toilet in the dark? So he manipulated the light to come back on.
"Hey, what's going on? The power's back?" Old He was startled.
Jiang Muye said, "I think the lightbulb's got a thing for you. Cherish it while you go."
"Screw you, am I that kind of pervert!"
"What are you thinking? I'm telling you to hurry up and go." Jiang Muye raised an eyebrow. "Really, stupid dog."
"Screw your stupid dog, get lost, get lost."
"Haha, I'm off. Take your time." After bantering with him, Jiang Muye headed to his own bed.
Jiang Muye got in bed and pressed the lamp on his headboard.
No power.
No problem. To Jiang Muye this was nothing.
He was someone with the System—he hadn't forgotten the all-purpose power bank he'd just redeemed.
Jiang Muye manipulated it.
The lamp had power in a second.
Absolutely delightful.
As for the phone being out of battery, that was even simpler.
Jiang Muye casually manipulated it—whoosh—the battery that had only been at twenty instantly went to full.
He no longer needed to worry about his phone dying, nor did he need to search everywhere for outlets and power banks.
He felt like he'd unlocked a new function. He'd really saved a hundred million, and made things convenient for himself too.
The next day, the bright sunlight crept along the ivy on the boys' dorm building, sneaking onto the windowsill and trying to slip in through the gaps in the curtains.
Then there was a "whoosh" as the curtains were all pulled open, and sunlight came pouring in.
This tormented Jiang Muye, who was sound asleep. His eyes felt terrible, and he directly covered them with the back of his hand, muttering, "My god, how am I supposed to sleep now?"
He wasn't the only one—moans of misery rose up all around.
"Yeah, I wanted to sleep in a bit more. So sleepy—I chatted with Suya all night," Little White Dove said, face full of fatigue as he rubbed his eyes, obviously super tired.
"Close the curtains, I want to sleep!" Old He's morning grumpiness was severe, and he directly buried his face in his pillow.
"Stop sleeping. We have class this morning, and the attendance check is super strict—it's Old Lin's class, do you dare skip it!" The one who'd pulled the curtains was Kai, the dorm head.
His main job besides supervising dorm hygiene was supervising the three lazy slobs getting out of bed.
Old Lin was the professor for their major courses—extremely strict, with wide connections, always recommending excellent interns to major companies. Everyone was naturally enthusiastic about his class since it concerned their future, and no one dared offend Old Lin.
After all, everyone wanted to climb up a bit using Old Lin's resources.
"You should've said so earlier, I'm getting up now!" Little White Dove's sleepiness vanished instantly.
Old He also put down his pillow and began dressing at top speed.
Only Jiang Muye was still lying on his bed, face down and sleeping.
Kai immediately began patting Jiang Muye's headboard, reminding him, "Alright, wake up. It's Old Lin's class."
"Oh, it's just Old Lin's class. Then let me sleep a bit more." Jiang Muye's tone was indifferent as he continued, "I'll lie in a bit longer, then go."
"I think your skin's itching—aren't you afraid Old Lin'll whip you with a little leather whip?" Old He joked.
"Teachers can't use corporal punishment," Jiang Muye replied.
Little White Dove said, "Then aren't you afraid he won't recommend you to a good company for an internship? His connections are solid, after all. We're all counting on performing well so he'll introduce us to a decent, stable job."
Jiang Muye squinted lazily and said, "No need for his recommendation. We'll just go work at a company directly."
Little White Dove and the others were instantly humbled.
Jiang Muye was the heir to a hundred-billion group—how could they compare, ordinary common folk like them? His family really did have a throne to inherit.
Little White Dove mumbled, "You're the crown prince. We're not the same as you—we don't have a hundred million in family assets to inherit, so we've still gotta be office workers slaving away for others."
"Working for others is impossible—working for others is impossible in this lifetime. You guys just come be executives at my company." Jiang Muye raised an eyebrow. "We'll make money together."
"Your company? Chen Group? You haven't taken over yet, and besides, isn't it in charge of overseas business? It doesn't connect with our design major," Kai said doubtfully.
Jiang Muye said lazily, "I started a business. Besides some land development, I also acquired a few small companies, one of which is a design company. It's currently being run by professionals."
"Which one? Is it some studio?" Little White Dove was quite the gossip.
This was the first time he'd heard about it, and he was now intensely interested.
Kai and the others also figured that Jiang Muye had money now but no background, so it had to be some small company of about twenty-some people—otherwise the risk would be too great.
