Chapter 742: Ancient Accord (1/3)

Dream Dao Attainment, Opening Scheme Against Cultivators

A non-proliferation accord?

Could it be something like the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty?

Lin Qi fell into thought, and as Princess Longji elaborated, he finally understood what this so-called Ancient Accord actually was.

It was, in essence, four words: Severing the Ages.

The content was simple as well.

It was to sever this War Between Heaven and Man of the ancient era within the River of Time.

Every Cosmos drawn into this War Between Heaven and Man had to be isolated within the River of Time, leaving behind a blank segment.

And this blank segment of history would completely sever the connections between past, present, and future.

Making this period of the War Between Heaven and Man in the ancient era into an isolated island within the River of Time.

Not only could it prevent anyone from crossing the River of Time to change this period of history, thereby fishing those who had fallen in this span of time and space back from the ending of death.

It could likewise sever peering into the future, thoroughly confounding the heavenly secrets of this era.

Making it so that no existence could peer into or foresee the outcome of this war.

Such were the contents of the accord.

It immediately reminded Lin Qi of those vast blanks he had glimpsed in that fleeting moment when he crossed the River of Time to descend.

So those were the severed spans of time and space?

And the reason they signed the Ancient Accord, agreeing together to sever the ages of time and space.

Was also for the sake of truly ending this War Between Heaven and Man.

So that this War Between Heaven and Man would not spread and proliferate endlessly.

Forming an endless war that thoroughly swept across past, present, and future.

It sounded somewhat like baseless worry.

But Lin Qi, who had experienced the Xuantian Dao Struggle in the Xuantian Macrocosm, measured in units of tens of billions of years, immediately recognized the importance of this Ancient Accord’s existence.

Because if this Ancient Accord did not exist.

Then this War Between Heaven and Man occurring in the ancient era might truly be eternal and endless, never seeing the day it would end.

After all, Dao-Sacrifice was eternal, and Heavenly Immortals were undying.

With no one capable of thoroughly ending the enemy’s most pinnacle forces.

If time and space were not severed, and the war was not limited on the scale of time.

Then the defeated party would inevitably harbor thoughts of making a comeback, crossing the River of Time again and again in the future.

Vainly attempting to change the past, to reverse the future.

So the existence of the Ancient Accord actually seemed to be a good thing.

As if guessing Lin Qi’s thoughts, Princess Longji said coldly.

“If this accord had been set from the very start of the war.”
