Chapter 96: Nothing but an Empty Dream
Dream-Making Expert
When the last Star Armor Ship crossed the Star Cloud Barrier, the starry sky fell silent.
On the first day without human activity, the world seemed so empty.
On the second day without human activity, the empty cities welcomed a new stirring of life.
A herd of elk crossed the green stone arch bridge in groups, happily feasting on the lush wheat fields left behind after humanity’s departure.
…
On the five hundredth day without human activity.
The creations left behind by human civilization began to weather and collapse with time.
Grass grew, birds flew, and all things revived.
By the time vine plants had completely crawled over the city walls.
A turtle-type demon beast that had escaped from the Storm Ocean followed the coastline deep inland, arriving before a collapsed city gate.
The violence flowing in its blood seemed to be activated at this moment.
The turtle-type demon beast suddenly roared, spitting out a water thunder.
Amidst the rumbling, the city gate completely collapsed. The green stone slabs covered by vegetation were flipped up, and within the broken walls and ruins.
The turtle-type demon beast let out an excited roar, charging into the empty, deserted city, wantonly destroying the creations left behind by human civilization.
The ancient bell tower let out a mournful cry, and under the turtle-type demon beast’s destruction, crashed down with a thunderous roar.
Amidst the flying debris, the earth suddenly began to tremble violently.
The turtle-type demon beast’s heart suddenly palpitated, instinctively retracting its limbs, leaving only its head secretly peeking at its surroundings.
The trembling of the earth grew more and more intense. Visible cracks appeared across the continent, and immense terror spread through the hearts of all living things.
The sea roared, raising tsunamis dozens of meters high. The tsunamis continued to rise — hundreds of meters, thousands of meters.
Soon, a massive tsunami thousands of meters high, as if Tianhe itself were pouring backward, stood like a mountain and a wall between sea and sky.
Like a sword of Tianhe suspended in the sky, sufficient to judge the life and death of all things.
It rose, then fell.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
An earth-shattering upheaval capable of silencing all things and hushing all sounds suddenly swept across the entire planet as the thousand-meter tsunami crashed down.
Seawater boiled, volcanoes erupted, the earth trembled.
The entire world was plunged into an apocalypse of heaven collapsing and earth splitting apart in a single instant.
The star that had once nurtured life, in the blink of an eye, destroyed the majority of life upon it.
She created everything, she destroyed everything.
“Ah.”
Amid a sigh, Lin Qi woke from the palace. He opened his eyes, stepped forward to the edge of the cliff.
As if connecting heaven and earth, the ten-thousand-zhang-tall Azure Cloud Mountain Range welcomed its first storm.
He overlooked the mortal world, seeing seawater drowning the land, the plains, the mountains.
